Veterans Day


In light of honoring Veterans Day, here are some quick Veterans Day facts:

  1. Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919
  2. In 1965, President Eisenhower officially changed the name of the holiday to Veterans Day
  3. Veterans Day is often confused with Memorial Day – Memorial Day honors American service members who died in service whereas Veterans Day celebrates all American veterans, living or dead
  4. There are approximately 21 million military veterans in the United States
