So, we have some cool news… we are happy to announce that this fall a Boise State University Graduate Student Association (GSA) was developed and is in the process of formally becoming a recognized student organization on campus. The motivation for forming such a group stemmed from student expressed desire to provide an active voice for all Boise State graduate students, and to develop a platform for which to promote their interests. GSA is a student-run organization that hopes to soon elect officers and have a fully formed group by Spring 2017. All graduate students are welcomed and encouraged to join GSA!
Though still in the developing stages, several comprehensive goals have been established for structuring the group. Geosciences Ph.D. student Katelyn Watson outlined the purpose of this organization as offering, “advocacy for graduate student interests, providing professional development and networking opportunities, and enhancing the social and academic graduate student experience at Boise State University.”
